Great article!

Yes, I think so many of us are feeling this way during our midlife period.

We have done the rat-race, raised the kids, (with or without a partner) and now it is time for us.

We all have dreams and for many, they have been sequestered with reality so often.

As I approach 60, I feel it is time to embrace the changes but create something new.

Writing is a past time that everyone can do. With less family responsibilities, we can to take back our own time and discover new things about ourselves.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, Mies. I can relate to quite a few things. I am almost 48 so I know how your body is feeling. I am also familiar with mood swings and feeling low. In fact, there was a period I denied myself any form of joy. 😁However, I've made lots of Positive changes, such as joining the local sports centre, changing my diet and I am feeling pretty good. Not only are my feet dancing but so is my heart. 🎶🎶Like you, Beth's books, courses and workshops have been both healing and transformational. I am truly grateful to her for helping me unleash my creativity and access the writing strings of soul. 🙏

Congratulations for trying something new and thank you for your post. I too am midlife and have decided to embrace and love these changes as an opportunity to explore new experiences and follow tucked away dreams. I too have been inspired by Beth Kempton to follow dreams of writing. I look forward to reading your next piece. x

I am turning 49 this year and this article definitely resonates with me! I took an early retirement from public education in California in 2018 and moved to Jamaica where I now live with my second husband. This journey truly is full of twists and turns and I'm just now absorbing the whole mid-life experience part of it. I am grateful the universe has connected us here and I look forward to sharing this journey together...I just discovered Beth Kempton when I joined Substack in December and she is truly a gift to me. Finding her affirmed for me the saying "when the student is ready, the teacher appears." Keep up the great work, Mies, and I'll be on the lookout for new work from you! ❤️
